The futur proche / futur composé is formed using the conjugated verb "aller" (to go) in the present tense and the infinitive of the main verb. It consists of two verbs, which is why it is also called futur composé.

Here is the simple formula:
Subject + conjugated "aller" + infinitive

Examples:

• Je vais manger (I am going to eat)
• Tu vas lire (You are going to read)
• Il/Elle/On va partir (He/She/One is going to leave)
• Nous allons voyager (We are going to travel)
• Vous allez écrire (You are going to write)
• Ils/Elles vont nager (They are going to swim)

The futur proche is used to:

• Express planned actions in the near future:
  Demain, je vais visiter le musée.
  (Tomorrow, I am going to visit the museum.)

• Describe events about to happen:
  Attention, tu vas tomber!
  (Careful, you are going to fall!)

• Express intentions or plans:
  Je vais acheter une nouvelle voiture.
